How it all started...
The Bible is full of stories: a man and a woman in the garden, a man in a boat with animals, people in a foreign land. These are no mere stories; they are real people that God used. Not just a man and woman, but Adam and Eve created to bear the image of God and have dominion over the created world with God. Not a man in a boat with animals, but Noah, a righteous man, God used to bring renewal to the world because of sin. Not just any people, the Israelites a suppressed people God would deliver with a mighty hand by his servant Moses. It's in the stories of these people we see God at work This is the God of history, or HIS STORY.

It's important to know the story of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church as well. We are not simply a church, but we are a people in a particular place that God continues to move mightily among. This is our story.
Mulberry Springs Baptist church was organized in 1892 with 35 charter members. William Hugh McClelland served as the first pastor. The church was named Mulberry Springs because the first services were held under a Mulberry tree just south of a creek bed by numerous springs. Church records show that services were held once a month when a traveling preacher came to the area until 1935. The next 10 years services were held twice a month and in 1945 services were held every Sunday. Mulberry Springs has been served by 18 pastors over its 133-year history. Church growth and church building have come a long way from the first 35-members meeting under a Mulberry tree. The first building was erected in the early years of the church, remodeled in 1916, and a new sanctuary was built in 1971. A new educational wing was added in 1979, and a multi-purpose building built in 1984. Just recently, we added a new sanctuary in 2024. Although we have a rich history and tradition, we continue to look forward to what God will bring about in the future. For we believe our best days are still ahead of us.
